North Carolina Teenage Republicans Executive Board (2014-2015)
Chairman Luke Stancil is the longest serving member on the NCTARS Executive Board. Helping reorganize the federation in 2011, he has previously served as Vice Chairman and Treasurer. Luke has also previously served as Chair of the Johnston County TARS. Last year Luke was appointed by Governor McCroy to serve as the only student member on the Safer Schools Task Force. He also serves as a Co-Chair for Students for Tillis, Co-Chair of the Education Comm. in the Youth Legislative Assembly, and as Student Body President at Corinth Holders High School.
Vice Chairman Ryan Kane is a senior at Grimsley High School in Greensboro. Ryan has been on staff of political campaigns and organizations, including Berger for Congress, Coakley for Congress, Robinson for Supreme Court, and the North Carolina Republican Party. Additionally, Ryan co-chairs the Students coalition on the Thom Tillis for Senate Campaign. Ryan has served on North Carolina Teenage Republicans board since 2011, and is proud to serve as the current Vice Chair. He will be studying at Wake Forest University following completion of his senior year at Grimsley High School.
Secretary Charleton Edwards is a Junior at North Stanley High School. Charleton has been on the NCTARS Executive Board for two years, currently serving as Secretary of the Executive Board. Charleton says he is looking forward to "looking forward to the end of Obama's term as we see this red nation rising."
Treasurer Mary Hannah is sixteen years old and a home schooled junior this year. She currently lives in the town of Sanford, where she's the oldest of five children. Her interest in politics was spurred during the 2012 Presidential election but always loved to know what was going on in current events. Her other interests include philosophy, art, and musical theater. After she graduates college, She plans to go into the field of policy analysis and work for a policy institute. Mary Hannah is the Vice Chairwoman of the Central Carolina Teenage Republicans.
Candidates Comm. Chair Zach Berly is a Junior at Cape Fear Christian Academy (CFCA) and serves as the treasurer for the Central Carolina Teenage Republicans. He also serves as the Vice President of the Student Council, and as the Chief Justice of the Honor Court at CFCA. Zach is an avid soccer player and supporter, and is committed to being an activist in his community, state, and nation. He is honored to have been given the opportunity to serve his fellow republicans in the fight against expansive government, and can not wait to help shape the future of the great state he calls home, North Carolina.
Diversity Outreach Comm. Chair Markeece Young is a college freshman, he is a liberty minded Conservative who is dedicated to broadening the base of the party through reaching out to Youth and Minority Voters. He is apart of the RNC Black engagement team of North Carolina and as a former Democrat he knows how Minorities and Youth are exploited by the Democrats and wants to change that. Markeece also serves as Social Media Director
Grassroots Comm. Chair Anna Huffman is a senior at Western Alamance High School where she is the founder and president of the Western TARs, runs track, and is a member of Warrior Buddies (a special needs program), WA Fanatics, and Latin Club. She is also the scorekeeper for the school and local legion baseball team. Anna works for the NC Values Coalition, a pro-traditional marriage and pro-life organization. This will be Anna's second year on the NC TARs Executive Board.
Membership Comm. Chair Drew West is the Chairman of the Buncombe County Teenage Republicans. He previously served as Chairman of the Candidates Committee and has been recognized for his activism, by the Republican Party at a local, state, and national level. Drew hopes that his efforts will help move his generation into a more free, and fiscally-conservative society.
Res/Act Comm. Chair Jack Denton is 15 years old and the founder of the Mecklenburg County Teenage Republicans. He currently holds the positions of Chairman for Mecklenburg Co. Teenage Republicans and Chairman of the Resolutions and Activities Committee for North Carolina Teenage Republican. Jack earned the rank of Eagle Scout in February of 2014 and has held many positions of responsibility within his troop in Charlotte, North Carolina. Jack has been committed to the Republican Party since the 2008 Presidential election and continues to support and volunteer for conservative candidates for public office. He plans to run for political office in the future and aspires for the United States Senate.
Senior Advisor Justin Burr serves as State Representative for the 67th District in the North Carolina House of Representatives. Representing Stanly and Montgomery Counties, Representative Burr was re-elected to his 3rd term in 2012 with nearly 63% of the vote at the age of 27. A member of the NC GOP Central and Executive Committees, Rep. Burr has previously served as Chairman of the Stanly County GOP. Rep. Burr is a Alumni of TARS, receiving from National TARS "Outstanding TAR in the Nation Award" in 2003." Outside of politics Rep. Burr is an member of the Eagle Scouts, serving on the Central North Carolina Board.
Junior Advisor Zach Almond is a former Chairman of the North Carolina Teenage Republicans. One of the TARS that reorganized the NCTARS Executive Board, Zach served as Chairman from 2011 to 2012. In 2012, Zach was a Field Director for Congressman Richard Hudson's Campaign and a Campaign Assistant for State Rep. Justin Burr. Now a student at Wingate University, he now serves as Vice Chairman of the North Carolina College Republicans as well as Vice Chairman of the North Carolina 8th District GOP.
